How it works

1. Forward the ITB. From wherever you read your mail. No note needed.
2. Postail reads it and emails back exactly what it found: general contractor, project, scope, and the bid date.
3. You get reminded a week out, three days out, the day before, and the morning it's due.
4. Reply DONE when you've submitted, and the reminders stop.

Why this exists

Invitations arrive from BuildingConnected, Procore, ConstructConnect, Pantera, and from project managers who use none of them. Each of those platforms only shows you the bids it sent. Nothing shows you all of them at once, which is the only view that matters when you're deciding what to chase this week.

Your inbox already has all of them. This just makes your inbox remember.

It knows what a bid email looks like

• An RFI cutoff is not the bid date, even when it's listed firstHandled

• A stated timezone is honoured, so "2 PM Pacific" doesn't land three hours offHandled
• Award notices and prequalification renewals are correctly ignoredHandled

Reminders for everything else

Forward any other email with a line on top like "remind me Friday" or "chase this in 3 days" and you'll get a single nudge at that time. Useful for the submittal you're waiting on, or the GC who went quiet.

Am I handing you my inbox?

No, and the design makes that structurally true rather than a promise you have to take on faith.

• Postail has no access to your mailbox. There's nothing to sign in to, no permission granted. It sees exactly the emails you choose to forward and cannot reach anything else — not the rest of the thread, your other mail, your contacts, or your calendar. There's nothing to revoke because nothing was ever granted.
• The body of your email isn't stored. What's kept is the subject line, the general contractor, the project name, the scope, and the deadline. The email itself is read to find those and then discarded.
• It only ever emails you. Never your contacts, never the GC. There is no code path that sends to a third party.
• The text goes to Anthropic's Claude API to pull out the deadline. Anthropic does not train on commercial API data. That's the one place your forwarded text goes besides this service.
• Reply DELETE and you'll see exactly what's stored — every project, named. Reply DELETE CONFIRM and all of it goes: your address, your bids, your timezone, the lot. No waiting period, no backup kept. Forward something afterwards and you're a stranger again. The second step exists because this is the one thing that cannot be undone.

Reply STOP to end reminders but keep your history, or DELETE to erase everything. Full detail in the privacy policy.

The honest bit

This is early, and it's built and run by one person who works in the industry. Attachments aren't read yet — if the date lives only inside a PDF, forward the covering email that has it written out. If a deadline comes back wrong, reply and tell me; that's the most useful thing you can do, and I read every one.

Always check the date against the invitation. Postail is a safety net, not a system of record. You're still the one responsible for the bid.
